packaged goods companies under pressure to boost recycling

Thanks to many advocacy groups, recycling targets are being shifted toward manufacturers of consumer packaged goods in the US, on top of environmental pricing reform (EPR) for electronic waste. EPR is the additional fee consumers pay toward the costs of recycling firms that disassemble the devices and sell the salvaged materials.

EPR has yet to reach the UK, which WEEE Systems considers a vital step towards sustainability and compliance. EPR would loosen pressures surrounding E&E compliance. Though the transformation process with WEEE Systems enables new revenues for organisations, EPR is a great step towards transforming the psychology of the nation and CIOs in terms of understanding and taking responsibility for end of life electronic products and complying with the sustainability agenda.
