electronic waste recycling helps sony cut emissions

WEEE Systems congratulates Sony Corporation on exceeding its green targets. Having followed through with plans, announced in 2006, to drive down emissions, water use, electricity consumption and waste, Sony has exceeded its own goals by 30%. Waste, individually, was down by 14%. Sony has demonstrated that sustainable business practices can be successful and – with profits this year of $770 million – lucrative. The e-waste sector can only benefit from high profile successes of this kind, and WEEE Systems expects to see many others following Sony’s lead in greener, leaner operating strategies.
